Floors With a Story Behind Them
Boards found under eight layers of carpet. A walnut floor brought back by hand. A hundred square metres of oak and a piano that needed moving. These are the jobs our customers wrote home about.
“I bought a house which had not been touched since the 1950s and in the bedroom we pulled up 7 or 8 layers of carpet to find the original floorboards from 1906, they were black in places, some parts painted and lots of gaps and loose floorboards. I went on holiday and Dean and his team came in and fixed the floor, sanded and varnished it in two days... When I came back the floor was unrecognisable, there was no dust anywhere and everything was perfect. Would highly recommend.”

“The best floormen in the business. They passionately care and it shows in the results. Luke, Joe and Frank painstakingly renewed 100m2 of oak flooring at our house this December. Moving furniture (incl heavy piano), fixing pre-existing gouges in our floor and working the weekend to get the job done. Prices bang in line with the other quotes we received - no extras. An absolute pleasure to have in our house for a week. Cannot recommend them highly enough!”
“Dean and his team provided a 5-star professional service. We had our ugly laminate flooring ripped out and the hardwood floorboards underneath restored to their original splendor. Dean was able to carefully match the finish to that in our existing rooms, making the whole flat come together. They completed the job early, and worked overtime to ensure they were finished by our move-in date... We were so impressed with the care the team took in everything that they did; they treated our house as they would their own. We genuinely couldn’t recommend Howard Naish enough; they’re the best!”
“We are delighted with the results for our kitchen floor. From a very worn and dark old floor it has been turned into a work of art! Howard Naish took great care with the restoration in the most worn areas, and managed to stain some odd floorboards that had always annoyingly stood out. The service was speedy, there was no dust or mess. All details were talked through with us to ensure the best result, so different finishes for the final look were set up to give us time overnight to decide our preference. And we could leave awkward furniture in the room. Very highly recommend.”

They were fast and easy to communicate with, and fitted us into their busy schedule so that we could get the job done before our baby was due, which we hugely appreciated. “I’m really pleased with the work Howard Naish Wooden Floors did for me. They spent a full 7 days sanding and finishing my original pine floorboards (two large rooms, hall and landing) and the result is excellent - the finish is beautiful and feels very high quality. They also gave really helpful advice on the best finish and gap filler to use, which I’m glad I followed. The work was good value for the standard achieved. They also sanded and re-oiled my kitchen worktops, which now look like new. Professional, tidy and clearly very skilled - highly recommended.”
“Wow! Very impressed with this company our floors are beautiful. We went for a darker stain and the coat is very even. Our skirting boards haven’t been touched either from the sanding or staining. They were very careful and did such a neat job taking real care around what they did. We also didn’t have any dust in the house or around the room either again sometbing I was surprised with. You can tell they really enjoy what they do and take real care and pride in their work. Thank you Dean and your colleague who joined you (sorry I didn’t remember his name…).”

“I chose Howard Naish because during the initial consultation they were really informative and genuine. They helped me to choose what floor to go with, and were patient with my indecision! They provided samples of the wood so I knew exactly what I was getting. I thought the price was fair and good value. During the installation, I felt completely comfortable giving Luke keys. Luke also helped to tidy the cables away whilst he was installing the floor. I am really happy with the end result. My floor looks fantastic, exactly as I had imagined. The quality of work is amazing. I am happy I chose Howard Naish and will be booking them again for sanding in other rooms.”
