Floor Sanding & Restoration in Fulham, SW6
The walnut herringbone behind this text was worn, inherited and irreplaceable. We restored it instead of replacing it, and that is the work we do across Fulham, Parsons Green, Sands End and Hurlingham.

Why Fulham Clients Choose Us
The Floor They Were Scared to Sand
We'll be straight with you: we didn't fit this floor. But it's one of the nicest floors we've ever sanded and finished, and it deserved the best restoration work we could give it. A walnut herringbone with a double inlay border that runs through the kitchen, the reception and the hallway, and curves right around the kitchen island. Work that good is rare, and you would never have replaced it with anything better.
The owners inherited it when they bought the house, and by then it had taken years of wear and tear and needed saving. They were scared to have it sanded at all, because a floor like this only gets one chance with the wrong company. They collected a number of quotes, met us, and finally felt they could trust someone to be let loose on it. We think the outcome speaks for itself: it looks like a showroom floor now, and it's the original.
- Worn, inherited and irreplaceable floors restored instead of ripped out
- Borders and inlays worked by machine and by hand, so the detail comes up crisp
- Walnut, oak and exotic timbers each sanded the way that timber needs
- Finish chosen on your own floor with a patch test, never off a brochure
- Family-run, with 22 years' hands-on experience, and both directors on every job
Fulham is made for this kind of work. The Victorian and Edwardian terraces between Parsons Green and Bishop's Park, the mansion flats along the New King's Road and the riverside homes around Hurlingham hold some of the best original floors in London, herringbone, parquet and boards that have been down for a century. When a floor like that gets tired, the cheap answer is to rip it out. The right answer is nearly always to save it.
The Detail That Makes It
An Inlay Border That Had to Survive
The double inlay line runs around the whole floor and sweeps in a curve around the kitchen island. Detail like this is what a rushed sand destroys, so the border was worked separately from the main field, by machine and by hand, until it came up as crisp as the day it was laid.
What We Do Here
Our Services in Fulham
Restoration & Sanding
Worn original floors brought back with our three-stage sand and a finish tested on your own boards first. Herringbone, parquet and straight boards, in walnut, oak, pine and the timbers you can't buy anymore. The house stays liveable throughout. Explore our floor sanding page.
Herringbone & Parquet
Fulham's favourite floors, and ours. Pattern floors need a different hand on the machine because the grain runs in two directions, and getting that wrong scars the floor. It's a big part of why the owners of the walnut floor on this page chose us. See our parquet restoration page.
Borders, Inlays & Repairs
Decorative borders and inlays preserved through restoration, worked by hand where the machines shouldn't go, and damaged blocks or boards replaced with matching timber so the repair disappears. More on our repairs page.
Staining & Finishes
Warmer, deeper, paler or darker: colour and finish are chosen on your floor with patch tests, never off a brochure. Walnut in particular rewards the right finish, one that deepens the figure instead of flattening it. See our floor staining page.
New Floors, Supplied & Fitted
When a floor genuinely is past saving, or a room needs a floor it never had, we supply and fit engineered oak, herringbone and chevron sourced through our trade suppliers, with samples brought to your door. One team, one quote. See our installation page.
Every Quote Includes
- Free site visit, fixed written quote, no obligation
- Industrial dust extraction on all machines
- Full public liability insurance
- Dust sheets, skirting masking, door seals
- Daily clean-down: your home stays liveable
- Aftercare guidance for years of good looks
